A MUST-EAT when yo come to Taiwan:)They're sweet, tasty and are one of the most popular snacks in Taiwan, but unlike their beverage cousin - the Made-in-Taiwan bubble tea or pearl milk tea which has gained worldewide popularity - few people outside Taiwan know what red bean cakes are. Thick round cakes slightly bigger than golf balls, they are made of waffle-style batter, which is poured into round-shaped moulds for each side. The sides are filled with red bean paste. When the two sides are pressed together, like a waffle maker, they form an easily portable snack which tastes best right out of the grill. DO TRY IT!
