Synagogue Postcard
Synagogue, Brasov, Romania Until 1807 Jews had no permission to live inside the city walls. The Jewish community was founded about 20 years later. The first school is from 1864. The synagogue was built in 1901. The architect was Lipot Baunhorn, who built 25 synagogues. In 1940 the community had 4000 members. Today there are about 200 Jews in Brasov. The synagogue was recently restored.
