It incorporates a glider flying among the clouds with "Altivolus" which means "flying high" in Latin. The clouds contain the logo for Silent Wings Ranch, the home of Southwest Soaring Society. The SWSS logo trails off the tip of the glider, representing the movement of the sailplane through the sky and the "swish" sound that is typically heard when a sailplane flies nearby.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
