Suyana is a very young Andean Bear cub who was rescued by the Andean Bear Foundation after she was separated from her mother and sibling. She will be the first bear to be prepared for release into the wild at the Iznachi Andean Bear Sanctuary. Her name which is an indigenous Quechua name meaning “Esparanza” in Spanish, and “Hope” in English, was chosen by Facebook friends of the Andean Bear Foundation.
