Common sunflowers grow wild in the White Mountains of Arizona. This original artwork was sketched from nature and hand-painted in watercolor.
When I first started learning to identify the plants around me, I also decided to "draw to learn" rather than "learn to draw". My goal is to capture the color, beauty, and personality of the species that are native to my area of the Mountain West.
