Summer Tanager, Audubon Red Bird, Birdwatcher Bird 2 Inch Round Button
The Summer Tanager is a bird of the south and mid-Atlantic states. The male is the only bird with all red feathers in North America. The female Summer Tanager is all mustard yellow in colour. It loves to feed on bees and wasps which it often catches while in flight and while avoiding the sting. The artwork was painted by John James Audubon in the early 1800's using watercolor paints and pen-and-ink.
