Located just east of Phoenix and surrounded by lore and legend, the Superstition Mountains have captivated the greedy hearts of gold rushers since the late 1800s when Jacob Waltz spoke of the “mother load gold mine.” Though annually some 8000 people search for it, The Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine, as it has come to be known, has never been found.
