Stop Censorship Poster

In this modern era of political correctness and identity politics there is an ever growing number of marginalized groups. Societal forces are growing that seek to silence unpopular opinion. The US Bill of Rights protects unpopular speech because our founders realized that the greatest threat to democracy is the silencing of the people. Voltaire is often quoted as, "I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it." Instead of upholding these values we now have segments declaring that certain people have, "no place in society". The desire to cleanse society of different points of view, cultures, religions, or to purge it of groups deemed "undesirable" by a select group is the cornerstone of bigotry. Such actions can only lead to more division, hatred, and violations of basic human rights. To silence an unpopular voice to simply feel secure in your own values is an act of pure evil. To seek out the murder of free thought and expression is definitely a hate crime. This poem was written to fight against this oppressive and hateful thinking and defend the basic concepts of free will and human decency. The poem reads: Silencing a voice - in the name of Peace - is Murder - to one's Beliefs - CENSORSHIP - is a Hate crime!
