Steam Donkey Mug

This steam donkey is in the Collection of the San Lorenzo Valley Museum, Boulder Creek, CAlifornia. It stands proudly at the south entrance to Boulder Creek on California Highway9. It was manufactured by Thomas G.Cantrell and Leon C. Marshutz at their National Iron Works factory in San Francisco around 1905. It was owned and operated by the Campbell Redwood Lumber Company who purchased 1826 acres on Gazos Creek near Pescadero in 1916. Their mill operated from 1916 to 1918.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
