Starry Night ~ Van Gogh Card
The most famous painting by Vincent Van Gogh. A modern masterpiece featuring a dark blue night landscape decorated with bright colour swirls of yellow, white and orange twinkling stars. Original Dutch title: De sterrennacht . This oil panting features the view outside Van Gogh ‘s sanitarium window at night although the actual painting was executed by memory during the day. Housed at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The painting has been compared to an astronomical photograph of a star named V838 taken by Hubble in 2004. The clouds of gas surrounding the star resemble the swirling patterns van Gogh used in this painting.
