Starlight and Max quilt mug

This was a "Challenge Quilt" made for a quilt show hosted by the Piedmont Quilters' Guild in North Carolina. The challenge rules stated that entries must be at least 25% black, and incorporate at least one traditional quilt block (I chose to use the friendship star). The quilt measures about 16 x 24 inches. The alternating light and dark areas suggest a sheer curtain billowing in the night breeze.
