St. Urho - Beating the Irish Apron
St. Urho's Day is celebrated on March 16th, just one day before St. Patrick's Day. It is an observance that was started by the Finnish up in Minnesota years ago and its popularity has been growing widely across the US for years. It is said that St. Urho drove the grasshoppers out of Finland and thus saved their grapes (which they made into wine!). Some say it was greated to get a headstart on the Irish from drinking all the beer up! The story can be found on my website at http://www.brownielocks.com/urho.html The official colours are purple (to represent the grapes) and green (to represent the grasshoppers.) Feel free to customize this with your own Finnish words or whatever you wish!

Just received my aprons that are gifts doe good friends and I am impressed by the quality of print, the fabric and build of the aprons. The pocket at the bottom of the apron which is 24" lengthwise will be quite useful.
