Squirrel from 20,000 Fathoms Notebook

The Squirrel from 20,000 fathoms Far beneath the frozen ocean, entombed in ancient ice for millions of years, something stirs. A nuclear test cracks the seabed and awakens a colossal prehistoric squirrel - a towering, scale-furred relic from a forgotten age, driven by instinct, hunger, and a thunderous, tail-smashing fury. As the creature rises from the depths and lumbers toward civilization, ships vanish, coastal towns fall silent, and terrified witnesses speak of a mountain of claws, teeth, and bristling fur trampling harbors in search of food… and an impossibly large supply of nuts. Scientists race to understand the beast’s origins while the military scrambles to stop it before the gigantic survivor reaches the mainland. But how do you halt a creature that survived extinction itself? Inspired by the atomic monster spectacles of classic 1950s cinema, this dramatic illustrated poster captures the era’s love of awakened prehistoric terrors, doomed expeditions, and unstoppable creatures from the deep - now reimagined with one truly enormous squirrel at the center of the catastrophe. After some pondering, I landed on squirrels - because let’s be honest, cute little kittens as villains would just be too obvious!
