Springtime woods is a painting inspired from memories of spring in the Eastern USA. I was reminded of these beautiful woodland areas by the lone redbud tree blooming outside my window. While it is just starting to turn green here in central New Mexico, the spring fever is already upon me. This painting attempts to capture the wide range of greens and some of the intensity of the flowering redbud and cherry trees that dapple the hills of the eastern woods. I hope this image brings fond memories to my viewers of the first warm days and bright new growth of spring. Original painting by David Wimsatt
