In 1970, Kuhn and a group of friends founded the organization, the Grey Panthers that advocates for the elderly. The full quote reads “Leave safety behind. Put your body on the line. Well-aimed slingshots can topple giants. And do your homework.” Maggie Kuhn encouraged older people to take control of their lives and advocate for themselves and their needs.
