South Dakota State Capitol Pierre South Dakota Postcard

This postcard features the South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre, South Dakota. It was completed in 1910 and an annex was added in 1932. It features Terazzo tile flooring throughout, which is said to have been laid by 66 Italian artists. Instead of signing their names somewhere in the building, these artists were each given a signature blue tile. In a strange twist, today only 55 of the 66 tiles have been found.
