SOS Titanic 1912 T-Shirt

The distress signal sent out by the Titanic when it struck the iceberg was "CQD," which was the standard maritime distress signal at the time. However, the recently introduced "SOS" distress signal was also used by the Titanic's radio operators. Shortly after the collision, the Titanic's wireless operators began sending distress signals using both "CQD" and the new "SOS" signal. The distress signals were picked up by nearby ships, including the RMS Carpathia, which was able to reach the Titanic's location and rescue over 700 survivors. Despite the efforts of the crew and other vessels that responded to the distress calls, the Titanic ultimately sank in the early hours of April 15, 1912.
