Somalia Border Postcard

This is an illustration from my book Monsieur Chen and the Somali Pirates. The covert operation team crosses over the Kenyan-Somalia border under the cover as members of the Les Champs de L'Oisieux soccer team. General Lao is driving the bus. I.D., who is really a professional soccer pclayer on the team, is driving his little blue Run-About with Funny, Colourful Bird riding in the backseat. Isabelle is in the backseat, too, while her dog, Norman, is in the front with I.D. Mrs. De L. is disguised as a motorcyclist. Monsieur Chen is too old for this hot and dusty road trip, so he is flying to Bosaso, Somalia instead.
