Soldiers Return Russia Photo 1919 Poster

A classic image from Zazzle's extensive collection of over 3,200 panoramic photographs, depicting iconic scenes from all fifty states. This commemorative poster print features a reproduction of an original panoramic photograph of Company I of the 339th Infantry. The photo caption reads "Back from Russia" and was taken in Brest, France, in June 1919. These men were all from Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, and were called "The Polar Bears," as they were a hand picked group selected for fighting in cold conditions. They trained at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, Michigan and fought in Russia during the Bolshevik Uprising as WWI was ending.
