A solar eclipse was visible across the United States on August 21, 2017, with a total eclipse visible in a long but narrow strip stretching from Oregon to South Carolina. This photo was taken in Rexburg, Idaho, at the end of the total phase of the eclipse just as the sun began to reappear from behind the moon in the so-called "diamond ring" effect.
