Soft pink sunrise pines on a snowy ridge tile

This image is taken from my original watercolor painting. It is inspired from a series of photographs that I took many years ago. On the way back to college after Christmas break very early one winter morning I was overwhelmed by the soft pink surmise. Fortunately there was an area where I could pull over and take three or four rolls of photos as the sunrise and morning progressed. The area I photographed offered a wide panoramic of rolling hills and ridges covered with pine woods. From that morning's photography session I have produced a number of watercolor paintings, most of which I have been very pleased with. This one was part of a study for a larger painting. I think it stands very well on it's own.
