Snake's eye mouse pad

The term "ja no me" (snake's eye) is derived from the pattern resembling a snake's eye, but its original form is a "tsurumaki" (a coil for holding备用 bowstrings) that samurai would wear during battles. After putting on their armor, they would attach it to their left waist, hanging it from the waist strap of their ebira (quiver). (According to "Kamon no Jiten" by Takasawa, etc.) / Tsurumaki is a leather or wicker bow accessory used to wind the bowstring, a ring worn by samurai on their armor, resembling a snake's eye.
