Skeleton Plays the Music of Death Coaster
This image, called "Der Tod als Erwürger," (The Strangling Death) was created by the German artist Alfred Rethel in 1851. It shows a skeleton appearing at a masked ball and playing the music of death. In this woodcut, the bow and the violin are made of human bones. Those people lulled by the music lay dead at the "feet" of this musician of death.

Bright and colorful! The printing is nice and crisp. True to color as seen on the webpage. The cork backing is well placed and there are no loose edges. I love this sandstone coaster! I would recommend this product for gifts, stocking stuffers, or for yourself!
