"Sign of Our Parting" Postcard
"Sign of Our Parting" - a phrase from the Edgar Allan Poe masterpiece "The Raven." This of course is one of the instalments in my series of paintings called "Once Upon a Midnight Dreary" - a collection of original paintings and figurines (limited edition statues from the Hamilton Collection / Bradford Exchange are now available). Each piece has a raven-winged fairy and her birdie friends with a decidedly goth feel. This beauty sits in front of a starry sky showing the phases of the moon - raven wings - and a candle blazing atop a skull. Cool! I debuted it at the Avalon Faery Fayre in Glastonbury, England 2011. My own original acrylic painting, painted on a wood/masonite panel.
