Self-Portrait with Straw Hat by Vincent Van Gogh, oil on cardboard 1887, depicts the artist looking intensely at the viewer, wearing his painters smock and large, brilliant yellow straw hat. Thinly painted with rapidly applied brushstrokes through which the pale tan tone of the cardboard support show through, the painting recalls the incisive linear drawing and technique of Lautrec as well as the unflattering, self-critical realism of Rembrandt. Van Gogh often wore his large yellow straw hat when painting outdoors in the sun.

Gorgeous paper, a little heavier than traditional decoupage tissue, but it worked beautifully on my project nonetheless. Elegant - simple- tres chic! The printing turned out beautifully, it is consistent throughout the entire print with a somewhat faded or mottled coloration. I am in love with this paper.
