According to my grandmother, if something wasn’t honest, it couldn’t be published, so I have to think these googles really did what they promised. And judging by the kid’s expression, they really did work. Or something. Either/or, this hand-coloured image (hand-coloured by yours truly) looks super neato on all kinds of EVERYTHING.
