Sea Bream Youkai (Wedding Scroll) Postcard

One of my favourite youkai is this random fish from the Bakemono Konrei Emaki (化物婚礼絵巻, Ghost Wedding Scroll), drawn by an unknown artist in the Edo period of Japan, sometime between the early 1600s to the mid 1800s. It is described by the International Research Centre for Japanese Studies as a sea bream riding a wooden pedestal, and what more do we need to know, really? The caption on the back of the postcard reads: "Front: A sea bream youkai from the Bakemono Konrei Emaki (Ghost Wedding Scroll), drawn by an unknown artist during the Edo Period of Japan."
