Hepburns are first heard of in Northumberland, and Adam de Hibburne was granted Hailes, in East Lothian, among other lands by the Earl of March "for good and faithful service", which appears to have incuded saving his life from an attack by a wild horse. Here is a Scottie in the Hepburn tartan plaid, created from my original artwork and available on clothing, novelty and gift items.
