Scottish Highland Cow Postcard

I love Highland cows..or ‘heilan’ coos’ as we call them in Scotland. Such rugged yet friendly looking big beasts - the ‘mammoths’ of the Scottish hillsides! I spotted this particular one when i was down filming in my hometown of Campbeltown, which is in the beautiful Kintyre peninsula in Scotland. He kept coming closer to the film camera to see what i was up to, whilst his brothers were just nonchalantly munching away on the grass. He was so friendly I decided to capture his likeness in a painting, and this piece is a companion piece to that. Here’s wee ‘Hamish’ for you to enjoy, and to remind any ex-pat Scot of home!
