Salisbury Cathedral, UK - montage postcard

Well-known for its spire and history, Salisbury has an organ that is the envy of many other cathedrals. The Salisbury organ was built by Father Henry Willis in 1877. In 1934 the same firm modernised the actions and installed a detached console with additional couplers and pistons. In 1969 the organ was renovated by Willis. Harrison & Harrison renewed the console mechanism and electrical system in 1978 and in 1993. It is very highly regarded as one of the finest of Willis' work. In this postcard you can also seen photos taken in and around Salisbury cathedral itself.
