Sainte-Dévote Church is a historic chapel dedicated to Saint Devota, the patron saint of Monaco. Every year in January, the traditional burning of a symbolic boat takes place right outside its doors, a moving ceremony attended by the Princely family and locals alike to honour the martyr’s arrival on Monaco's shores.
