Saint Clare of Assisi Postcard

The image of Saint Clare of Assisi originated on an old European holy card. The colours are still fresh and striking and the whole card glitters with gold stamping. According to tradition Saint Clare warded off an army of soldiers who were attacking Assisi. She approached them with the Blessed Sacrament in her hands. The soldiers were overcome with sudden fear and fled without harming anyone in Assisi. Saint Clare is shown with a monstrance commemorating this event. In keeping with the antique style, the reverse side of the postcard also features a nineteenth century design.
