According to legend, Saint Christopher carried a child across a river before the child revealed himself as Christ. The name Christopher means “Christ-bearer”. Saint Christopher is also invoked against lightning, storms, epilepsy, and pestilence. Saint Christopher prayer: Grant me O Lord a steady hand and watchful eye.
