Sailing Alone With Poem Size 8x10 Poster
I have used my artwork, “Sailing Alone,” to illustrate my poem by the same name. The image is an 8x10 and is self-matted with a white paper border and a gold inner frame and can be framed as is. The image should be purchased as an 8x10 in order to print properly. I will also be selling 8.5x11, 11x14, 13x19, and 16x20 sizes in the same artwork, and they should only be purchased in that size in order to print properly.
My poem on the artwork is:
SAILING ALONE
“I know why you sail on the water, alone.
You come, as I do, to be part of something bigger than yourself.
I sit on the beach and watch the waves come in.
My eyes follow you as you drift so slowly.
I am part of YOU and you are part of ME, joined by the water that separates us.
Do you think as I do?—in undulating feelings rather than specific thoughts?
How strange! When it’s time to leave
I never can remember what was in my mind; but I know I was there,
On the beach—observing—existing—
Aware of the waves, and the wind, and the gulls overhead,
But correlating them in a different consciousness.
I am a sponge washed up on the shore—
Saturated—oppressed—but in a pleasant way.
I don’t want to go.
If I leave you now, we will never meet again exactly as we did today.
Tomorrow the mood of the water will change…
Perhaps bright blue, smooth as glass;
Measured course for a regatta;
In turmoil from a raging wind.
We will have lived another day, our thoughts progressing toward eternity.
Our hearts may turn to other things,
Severing the bond that holds us close today.
If your boat turned to shore and I met you at the dock,
Would we communicate at all, or be as strangers, cold and reserved?
I might think I know your thoughts and motivations,
But could we share the secret depths of our hearts?
Why should we? We owe each other no confessions.
Still it seems so sad to part like this—
To turn away so abruptly and leave you
Adrift on the water,
Sailing alone.

My Bible verse postcard, turned out excellent. I love it and have it already framed. It was so reasonably priced for something done so well. Thank you to Zazzle and the artist! I thought it looked exactly like what I ordered. Perfect.

Nice poster with all the 48 high peaks of New-Hampshire. Just need to put a little sticker when you hiked them.
Also got the ADK46 poster... Super well printed, great quality paper and colors.
Nothing is blured. All vivid colors.

The poster was made for my son’s baptism and it looked so beautiful on the cake table for the reception! Great quality and looked amazing in a simple white frame.
