Original Photograph taken in 2010. The Ruins of Carthage are an important archaeological site in Tunis. Carthage was the seat of the powerful Carthaginian Empire and the scenario of the Punic Wars. It fell to Rome in the 2nd Century B.C.E. The archaeological site contains ancient baths, theatres, villas and breathtaking classical columns, with sweeping views of the Gulf of Tunis.
