Romanian Parliament Postcard
Palace of Parliament, Bucharest, Romania The enormous palace was built during the dictatorship of Nicolae Ceaucescu in Romania from 1983. This is the second largest administrative building of the Earth. (The Pentagon is a little bit larger.) The volume of the building is the third on the planet after the rocket assembly hangar of Cape Canaveral and the Quetzalcoatl pyramid. The total cost of the building is estimated to be more than 6 billion dollars (the Romanian GDP in 1993 was 17 billions). Many citizens worked on the palace free as "patriotic labour".
