This postcard features rocks and waves in the Republic of Nauru (also called Nauru). It is an island country in the sub-region of Oceania in the Central Pacific. It was first inhabited by Micronesians and Polynesians at least 3,000 years ago. In 1798, a British sea captain named John Fearn, became the first westerner to report seeing Nauru and called it Pleasant Island.
