Rock Kitchen Towel
This is a painting I did of Iberville shale on birch bark. These stones are found in Vermont where I live, but the name comes from a town in Quebec where they were discovered. Formed roughly 440 million years ago! They are unique and beautiful. I love to cook and once while travelling in the Azores I came across a restaurant that served hot rocks where you cooked your own meal on the rocks! No complaining to the chef. A nice gift for a geologist, or someone who appreciates natures beauty. For me the stones speak about my travels, and the beauty of Vermont.

I was actually surprised by the quality. The material feels like it can handle the wash and the print seems to be set deep in the fibers. BUT I have not washed it yet. The printing was accurate and looks like it can handle washing.
