On my first solo backpacking trip, I went 22 miles for 3 days and 2 nights. I slept without a tent in the woods, next to a beautiful river. This trip taught me a lot about being alone, where my mind wanders, and how to rely on God. As I hiked the second day, I heard growling from a few redwood trees and I was terrified…till this day I don’t know what I passed by, but I’m glad I made it out alive!
