Red Lighthouse at End of Pier on Lake Michigan

The red octagonal Menominee Pierhead Lighthouse stands out against a clear blue sky and darker blue water. It is on the Michigan side of the state border with Wisconsin on Lake Michigan. In 1927, the lighthouse was disassembled to construct a square concrete building to house an electric foghorn. The 1877 lighthouse was then reassembled on top of the square building.
