This gorgeous apron for lovers of classical Italian Renaissance art features an oil painting of possibly the two most famous cherubs in the world. By the Italian painter and architect Raphael (1483 - 1520) the two winged angels resting on their elbows as they gaze upwards are part of a larger painting of the Madonna and child called "Sistine Madonna," or "The Madonna de San Sisti." Legend has it that Raphel, born Raffaello Sanzio, took his inspiration from the child models he used for the painting. Others say his inspiration for the cherubs were the faces of two young children he saw looking longingly at a baker's shop window! The apron would make the perfect gift for lovers of Renaissance art, and angels!

Just received my aprons that are gifts doe good friends and I am impressed by the quality of print, the fabric and build of the aprons. The pocket at the bottom of the apron which is 24" lengthwise will be quite useful.
