If you like intense, vibrant colour, then these pictures might well be for you. If you match your art to your curtains or sofa, I'm probably not your girl. I'll do the odd monochromatic or black and white drawing, but mostly, it's pure, rich colours that I crave and gravitate towards. Sunsets, landscapes, flowers, random shocks of colour fashioned into shapes that please me...I’ll probably expand my repertoire one day but for now those are my usual suspects. A good friend once told me he never thinks twice when spending money on fruit, flowers or books. That made sense to me and it is sound advice that has helped me avoid many a sawdusty peach, wilted bouquet and second rate novel. I'd like to add good paper to that list - I'm biased of course, but it seems to me that if you like an image enough to put it where you'll see it every day, it should be on the best paper you can afford, because when it comes to print quality, as with fruit, flowers and books, generally speaking, you get what you pay for. That said, if the higher quality paper is out of your price range, you can halve the price by changing to the least expensive version and it should still be pretty good. The default size for almost all of my pictures is 24" x 18" (or 18" x 24"), which is as big as they can go without pixilation or blurriness. That's pretty big - take two sheets of 8.5" x 11" paper to map it out and you'll see it's not small, although it looks to be on the view options on the website, plunked all on its lonesome in the centre of the wall. You can make it smaller, of course, but just note that if you want to see the whole image, stick with 16" x 12", 11" x 8.5" or 10" x 8". But if you want a smaller picture and like how it looks cropped, go for it:) Finally, there are a few different Zazzle stores. Their main store is www.zazzle.com, but if you're Canadian, you should probably head over to www.zazzle.ca, where you'll see that the prices are 30% higher, and that will probably make you want to hightail it back to the U.S. store to order, but it probably won't end up being cheaper because the shipping charges are higher ($8 more on an unframed poster), and you pay Canadian sales tax, plus duty (% of value, I think) and brokerage fees ($5 - $8).
