Winston Churchill, who had served under Queen Victoria, said that "great have been the reigns of England's queens" when celebrating the accession of Elizabeth II. This design celebrates all six of England's queens regnant (queens who have ruled in their own right, rather than just being the wives of kings): Mary I, Elizabeth I, Mary II, Anne, Victoria, and Elizabeth II. Also included are disputed queens Matilda (whose cousin usurped the throne) and Jane Grey (who ruled for only nine days.)

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
