About This Design

Pythagoras' Theorem Mug

Pythagoras' Theorem Mug

Inspire someone's Maths Side with this cool Pythagoras Theorem mug. PYTHAGORAS’ THEOREM TUTORIAL: In Right Angled Triangles (that’s triangles in which one angle is 90 degrees), the square created by the longest side (called the Hypotenuse, which is always the side opposite the right angle) has exactly the same sized area as the squares created by the other two sides, put together. The Hypotenuse is usually labeled ‘c’, and the other two sides are usually labeled ‘a’ and ‘b’. So we say, c squared = a squared + b squared. * USE OF THEOREM: If we know the lengths of two of the sides of a right angled triangle, then we can use this theorem to find the length of the third side. (But remember it only works on Right Angled Triangles!). * EG: Let’s say in a right angled triangle side ‘a’ is 4cm long and side ‘b’ is 3cm long. Then side ‘a’ creates a square with area 16cm squared (4x4), and side ‘b’ creates a square with area 9cm squared (3x3). So, the square created by side ‘c’ (the hypotenuse side) must be 16 + 9 = 25cm squared. This means that the length of side ‘c’ is 5cm (because 5x5=25). * NOTE: Although this relationship between the sides of Right Angled Triangles is named after Pythagoras, he was not the first person to discover it. It had already been known about around the world well before Pythagoras was even born.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..

I am very satisfied with the quality of this product. The printing of the image on the mug was absolutely perfect and the quality of the mug itself was very good as well. I would recommend this product to anyone. I am very pleased with how the printing on the mug turned out. The image was clear, not blurry at all, and easy to see. I would recommend this product to anyone.
