About This Design

Prague Astronomical Clock Tile

Prague Astronomical Clock Tile

This ceramic tile features the Prague Astronomical Clock on the Old Town Hall, showing the medieval mechanism and decorated façade on Old Town Square. Clockmaker Mikuláš of Kadaň created the original mechanism around 1410, making the Orloj one of Prague’s oldest technological landmarks. Master Hanuš of Růže refined it in the late 15th century, and the clock has remained inseparable from the civic identity of the Old Town Hall.
