Vintage, postmarked Civil War envelopes (mail) relating to the Union: one with a star design and handshake with message "Union forever. Separation never"; the other shows a Patriot labelled "Secured" holding the Constitution, and a Zouave soldier labelled "Defended," with message "The Union forever". Both envelopes also feature the postmarked stamp of President George Washington, issue of 1861. Courtesy of the LOC.
