Poster Print: "Whirlwind of Lovers" by W. Blake
"Whirlwind of Lovers" was created by William Blake, circa 1826-1827. It was commissioned as an illustration to "Dante's Inferno" but was never completed, possibly due to Blake's death in 1827. It was made as a watercolor. The series of illustrations for "Dante's Inferno," including "Whirlwind of Lovers," remains one of William Blake's most important works. "Whirlwind of Lovers" currently resides in the Birmingham Art Gallery.
