Castle Peles is a Neo-Renaissance castle in the Carpathian Mountains located in Prahova County near Sinaia in the heart of Romania. The castle belongs to the late King Michael (Mihai) I of Romania (1921-2017). It was the former summer residence of King Carol I and Queen Elisabeth, and it was built in 1873-1914. Castle Peles is the scene of many Hallmark movies in Hollywood productions for Christmas.
