Portuguese Flag (Portugal)

This design features the national flag of Portugal, which is a country located mostly on the Iberian Peninsula, in southwestern Europe. It is the westernmost sovereign state of mainland Europe; it is bordered to the west and south by the Atlantic Ocean and to the north and east by Spain. Its territory also includes the Atlantic archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira, both autonomous regions with their own regional governments. The official and national language of Portugal is Portuguese. Portugal is the oldest nation state on the Iberian Peninsula and one of the oldest in Europe. The capital and largest city of Portugal is Lisbon (Lisboa); some other major cities are Porto (Oporto), Braga, Vila Nova de Gaia, Amadora, Coimbra, Funchal, Setúbal, Almada, Agualva-Cacém, Queluz, Rio Tinto, Barreiro, Aveiro, Viseu, Odivelas, Leiria, Matosinhos, Guimarães and Faro.
