Inward, I turn my face to His Looking away from the outward This walking in two worlds Where feet tread The dust of earth And soul breathes The air of heaven Here................. and there Present and Presence Letting go of constraints And that which struggles Against this simple dichotomy That heaven invades earth When the heart stills To hear the quiet whisper Of a Voice that speaks Of love and belonging Honeyed words That drip like fresh oil Imbuing this one With peace and rest Weaving a cocoon of gold And silver threads That bind up the broken places Even as the world Presses outward This beautiful calling To "Come away" If even for a moment Into that sacred place Where He abides Within me ~ Maria Egilsson
